IT IS TIME TO SPEAK UP, SUPPORT VICTIMS, AND END CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
In 2005, serious concerns about Mark Amantia’s interactions with teenage girls at Timberlane Middle School were
brought to the attention of the HVRSD Administration. Since that time, former HVRSD students have continued
to report similar experiences with Amantia.
Instead of protecting vulnerable children in the District, the HVRSD Administration ignored the many warning signs
that Mark Amantia was a danger to children, and the District actively attempted to cover up
his behavior, disparaging victims of child sexual abuse in the process.
Pushing back against a culture that often punishes victims and treats them as if they have done something wrong, we believe
that those who have suffered from Mark Amantia’s actions deserve a voice.
